Life is too good to stress out at the dollar store.
See? I was in line at the dollar store. I had a pleasant visit gathering things for my sons’ spring party at school.
There was one cashier, two people ahead of me and one in back of me. With me so far?
The lady currently checking out had a total around $43.dollars, (to us math geniuses that’s around 40 items plus tax right?)
The lady was so sweet and pleasant, making small jokes and apologizing for holding up the line.
The lady in back of me was huffing and puffing, sucking her teeth and visibly annoyed.
By her being annoyed, I was getting annoyed…AT HER. In no way is it the lady at the registers problem to make lady number four happy or content.
Lady number one has every right in the world to purchase 40 items, arrive at the time she arrived, and pay for her merchandise, correct?
Lady number four starts saying things like, “get another cashier” and “this is ridiculous”.
I couldn’t take any more negativity coming from this woman and so I smiled and said “Life is too good to stress at the dollar store”. She replied to me “what dream world do you live in?”
This woman was OOZING negativity.
So much so that I wanted to send her MORE negative energy. I couldn’t help but dislike her, feel anxiety by being near her and not waste my happy positive mood on her.
AND… in that instant, DING, DING, DING… “What you send out to the Universe, you get back!” It all made sense.
When you are nice, people will be nice, and if they are not… Send them love and move on.
I wanted to protect the lady at the register, to defend her, simply because she was smiling, making jokes and apologizing. She sent out a good vibe and I wanted to send her my support of that positive exchange.
The lady behind me made me want to be nasty right back to her. Then she would be re-affirmed that the world is a horrible place and I do in fact live in a dream world.
Bitch. (Oops…see?)
Life doesn’t have to be that way; a little positivity can go a long way in paving the way to the lives of our dreams. I firmly believe this.
Think about how much you are sending negative thoughts “out there”. Just start to notice it.
Catching yourself is half the battle. NAMASTE.

If that is her negativity at a Dollar Store I’d hate to see her in a worse situation. I admire when people can be positive. At our beer store you can return bottles of wine for like 25 cents. Some people come rolling in with cases. I had a small bag and these two grown men in their 50’s were fighting on who was first, like the bottles were almost flying and fists pumping. I casually joked to both of them, um guys I can solve your problem just let me go first then you don’t have to fight about who’s next. The one guy let me go and bam the problem was solved. The two men shut up and waited patiently. lol

It’s amazing how people can be so negative in completely mundane situations. Like.. Road rage. I will never understand it for the life of me. A guy was yelling and screaming at me on my way to school. I was lost and trying to find my way. He tried to cut me off and continued to come up to the window and scream at me. What would have been nice and changed both our days is if he had rolled down the window and asked if I was ok or needed help! UGH

Nowadays,we live in a instant gratifying world, where patience has become a tedious task for many. As a result, we want this done now and have gotten so selfish too.
Such a pity that person was so negative.
Plus I don’t get why she was screaming to woman one, to get another cashier, if woman one was their 1st. I’d understand if she was trying to get the store to open another register.

Thank you for your reply and taking the time to read my story. I get very upset seeing the way society is headed. Road rage, school shootings etc. I choose to be happy, I choose to strive for happiness every day. It confuses me as to why people would just create chaos. You have a wonderful day Shellmac! Thank you again!
