Separation

Don’t let the title fool you into a false sense of satisfaction. Manny took a trip up north with my mother; it’s the first significant amount of time we have spent apart since he arrived in the United States, and… I’m loving it!

First, my son and I have spent some real quality time together, and it’s been AMAZING!

Second, I’ve realized (again) the meaning of my favorite quote; “Passion is a noisy thing but true love lives quietly.”

For the first time in my life, I have a man who I don’t need to worry about.

I trust him.

I don’t wonder what he may be doing behind my back, and I don’t sit awake at night wondering when he may come home, or pray that he’s sober when he does.

Manny is so much more of a real “man” than any “guy” I’ve ever had in my life besides my dad.

He is a “husband.”

I know where he is at all times, and those rare times that I may not know… I really don’t care.

Never in my life has ANY man made me feel this secure, loved or calm. It’s an incredible feeling which reassures me that my “quote” has been right all along.

That advise I’ve been giving… “Wait for that person who creates quiet in your soul.”

…I promise you, that’s when you know you’ve met the right “ONE.”
